Barolo Barbaresco Masterclass and Tasting

Barolo & Barbaresco Masterclass

Join Scott Thomas, co-founder of Grappolo Food & Wine School, for a sit-down, technical seminar and comparative tasting focused on the Nebbiolo grape. This session is designed for those seeking a detailed study of the Langhe’s most prestigious regions. The curriculum moves beyond the basics to explore the theory, history, and geography of Barolo and Barbaresco, including a granular look at the main villages and the official Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGA Cru) system.

Attendees will analyze the "cause and effect" of specific terroirs and winemaking decisions through a guided tasting of 9 distinct wine examples. This flight features a range of expressions, including wines with lengthy bottle age and current vintages, to illustrate the evolution and longevity of the region.

The class is led by an instructor with deep ties to the region. Scott is one of only 22 certified Italian Wine Experts globally and lived in the Barolo and Barbaresco area for two years while earning a Master’s in Wine Culture. As an official Langhe Wine Ambassador, he provides a perspective rooted in both academic rigor and local experience.

To maintain the intimate environment for technical discussion, seating is extremely limited. Please note that due to the nature of the wines being served, cancellations and refund requests can only be honored up to 3 days prior to the event.

A selection of the wines featured in the tasting will be available for purchase through our retail partner following the class.

Small bites provided.
